Scarce Colt Bisley Flattop Target Model Single Action Army Revolver in .32-20 W.C.F. with Factory Letter The accompanying factory letter states this Bisley Flattop Target Model revolver was shipped on January 13, 1910, to Wm. Rogers Company in Syracuse, New York, in .32-20 caliber with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and type of grips not listed, as the sole gun of its type in the shipment. Only 976 Colt Bisley Flattop Target Model revolvers were manufactured in total and only 131 of those are listed in factory ledgers as chambered for the .32-20 W.C.F. cartridge per page 252 of "The Book of Colt Firearms" by Wilson. The revolver has the distinctive Bisley Model features which include the higher frame, humpback grip area, curved hammer with wide knurled spur, and wide trigger. Features the scarce flattop frame, with a period shortened pinned blade target front sight and dovetail mounted square notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the one-line Colt Hartford legend, and "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." is on the left. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the two-line patent date markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt trademark. Matching visible full serial numbers are marked on the frame, trigger guard, and butt, with matching partial "0478" correctly hand etched on the interiors of both grips, unnumbered cylinder, and assembly number "17" on the loading gate and rear of the frame. A star is stamped on the right side of the trigger guard indicating the revolver was returned to the Colt factory at some point.
