AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, oil on canvas, a waist-length depiction of a sandy-haired gentleman with bright blue eyes, in his hands he holds a book, and around his neck he wears a gold chain with a pocket watch key visible hanging near his waist. No signature located. Unframed. Mid 19th century. 36" x 28" OA.

  • Provenance:

    From the collection of the late Carol H. Forrer, Northville, MI.

  • Condition:

    Good restored condition having been cleaned and resurfaced with some relatively minor areas of repair with inpainting; one with a small patch verso; several visually minor areas of creasing/damage from the back which mostly do not go through, some with minor inpainting.
