A trio of sterling silver serving pieces featuring marks for Wood and Hughes and the Whiting Manufacturing Company. The set consists of a long-handled olive spoon with a lattice-pierced bowl, a wide tomato server with ornate foliate piercing, and a scalloped bonbon spoon with a central lattice-pierced section. All pieces are decorated in the late Victorian Rococo Revival style, characterized by high-relief scrollwork, floral motifs, and intricate openwork. The handle of the olive spoon is stamped with the maker's mark WOOD and HUGHES, the purity mark STERLING, and the patent date PAT. 1891. Additionally, the pieces bear pseudo-hallmarks including a lion, a profile head, and a letter W in a shield, associated with the Whiting Manufacturing Company.
