Peter and Wendy first edition hardcover, by J.M. Barrie, illustrated by F.D. Bedford. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911. Front endpaper with a card for Mr. Isaac Frederick Marcosson inscribed "A Merry Christmas for the Peter Pan (Boy?) J.M.". The lower left corner of the card indicates that it is Marcosson's calling card from the private New York theater club "The Players." Green gilt pictorial cloth, 8vo, approx. 6" x 8-1/4".   • Condition: Nice condition. Pages, including illustrations, are in excellent clean condition with possible toning or the occasional light spot, the cover with typical age related wear including fading/discoloration of the green cloth, bumped corners, shelf wear, some marks, and minor losses with none compromising the structure. Fly papers with typical toning from age and minor discoloration, the front endpaper with pencil. There is a cracked hinge showing behind the half title page, spine appears secure. Small tear along the bottom edge of the first illustration, opposite the title page. See images.
