Exceptional World War II 1945 Production U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine with Case Manufactured in early 1945, from the fifth production block (serial number range 6,629,884 to 7,234,883) by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors between November 1944 to August 1945, which included M2 production. It features a "R" marked winged blade front sight and an "I.R.CO." stamped adjustable peep rear sight, a "SI" marked type 3 barrel band, a "2-45" dated Inland barrel, Inland "H" marked type 4 operating rod, "A.I" blued round top bolt, along with an Inland milled trigger housing with "SI" marked type 4 magazine catch, type 4 rotary safety, and "HI" marked type 3 hammer. Fitted with a "HI" marked four-rivet walnut handguards and a low-wood walnut stock marked "IO" in the sling cut and stamped with an "Ordnance wheel" on the right of the butt. Includes a web sling, oiler, "1944" dated web muzzle cover, and a "SHANE MFG. CO./1944" marked period web carry case. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and is considered an assault weapon in some states.   • Condition: Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% plus original parkerized and 85% original blue finishes with light handling wear, some mild cycling wear on the bolt, minor oxidation focused on the buttplate, dried grease, and clear markings. The wood is very fine with a few minor handling marks and a filled knot hole on the right of the butt. Mechanically excellent. the case is exceptionally fine with some minor storage wear and some age fading. Overall an attractive original example of a World War II 1945 production U.S. Inland M1 Carbine with a period carry case!
