Items are sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS" with no guarantee of any kind.

The buyer should rely entirely on their own inspection, research, and information BEFORE BIDDING.

RETURNS:
All sales are final. It is your responsibility to inspect an item for condition or authenticity before purchasing it. No refunds are given.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Bidders are responsible for knowing which item they are bidding on. Bidder should NOT bid if they are unsure of what they are bidding on. Once you have won the bid you have effected a contract and WILL BE expected to pay for this item.

The auctioneer reserves the right to accept bids in ANY increment he feels is in the best interest of his clients, the seller.

All announcements made on the DAY of the auction take precedence over any printed material.

Mebane Antique Auction Gallery is providing internet pre-auction and live bidding as a service to the bidder. The bidder acknowledged and understands that this service may or may NOT function correctly on the day of the auction. Under NO circumstances shall the bidder have any kind of claim against Mebane Antique Auction Gallery or anyone else if the internet services fail to work correctly before or during the live auction. Mebane Antique Auction Gallery is not responsible for any bids missed from any source. Internet bidders who desire to make certain their bid is acknowledged should use the proxy-bidding feature and leave their MAXIMUM bid 24 hours before the live auction begins.

If requested, we will provide you with a condition report. All condition reports reflect our good faith opinion but do NOT in any event constitute a representation or warranty about an item and are non-binding.

We do not make any representations or warranties. We specifically disclaim: (1) any comments or descriptions in printed matter, including in catalogues and in promotional material, (2) comments or descriptions made by the Auctioneer during the auction, and (3) any errors or omissions in comments or descriptions. All comments and descriptions, whether verbal or written, are rendered solely as opinion, are not binding and are subject to error.

Payment

PAYMENT:
*ALL GOLD MUST BE PAID FOR VIA WIRE TRANSFER OR BY CERTIFIED CHECK, UNLESS YOU ARE A PREVIOUSLY ESTABLISHED CUSTOMER*
Method of payment is at the discretion of the auction house.
All payments are due immediately, in full, in U.S. Funds. Winning bidder is responsible to contact Mebane Antique Auction Gallery. If payment is not received within 3 business days you will forfeit your lots and a UPI strike will be put against you. We accept cash (in-house bidding/pick-up only), cashier's check, wire transfers, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. The Buyer's Premium is part of the purchase price, as is sales tax if applicable. We reserve the right to hold all goods paid for by check until payment has cleared.

Shipping Terms

ALL items won by bidder will be shipped through the United States Post Office Insured Mail and/or Registered Mail UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY BUYER.

We at Mebane Antique Auction Gallery, count it a privilege to be able to service our customers through our shipping department. We have and will continue to serve our customers in all 50 states & internationally. All the shipping of items sold online or absentee/phone are done in-house. A majority of packages will be shipped United States Post Office (USPS) priority mail. All books will be shipped USPS media mail unless specified by buyer. USPS registered mail will be used for item(s) that exceed $5,000. Items that exceed 70 lbs. or 108 inches in length & girth combined will be shipped Fed-Ex. unless otherwise specified by buyer. All items, will be packaged accordingly with USPS shipping standards or standards from which the company providing service.

In the case of denied/unpaid claims, Mebane Antique Auction Gallery will not be held responsible or liable for the payment of these items to buyer. Buyer releases Mebane Antique Auction Gallery from any & all unpaid claims on behalf of USPS or shipping companies providing service. All packages, will be shipped in a timely manner. A timeline for items shipped will not be provided. Items will be shipped in the order paid invoices are received. Once a USPS label is created & an email address has been provided, buyer will receive an email confirmation containing the tracking number. We thank you and anticipate any & every item(s) purchased from Mebane Antique Auction Gallery that requires shipping to be an easy & pleasurable experience.

Items that are not picked up or shipped within (30) days post sale will be considered abandoned. Abandoned items will either be donated to a local charity or re-sold at auction to compensate the storage fees incurred. There will be no refunds on abandoned items.

We DO offer in house shipping. We DO NOT provide shipping estimates.

Buyer is responsible for paying ACTUAL shipping cost (postage AND insurance), which will be charged to the buyer's credit card as soon as the item is ready to be shipped. Some invoices are subject to a $5 to $10 packaging material fee per box. This fee is based on the size, weight and amount of items purchased. There is no charge for labor or transportation to the post office.

Invaluable/ AuctionZip Bidders: We will add shipping charges to your invoice once we have your shipping cost. We will charge the card you have on file through Invaluable twice: once for the original invoice and again just for shipping. Once payment for the invoice is received, we will have our shipping department package and prepare your items for shipping. That means we automatically prepare items for shipping after payment is collected. We use the address listed on your Invaluable account for shipping. IF YOU NEED TO USE A DIFFERENT ADDRESS OR DO NOT NEED SHIPPING AND WILL PICK UP, LET US KNOW ASAP AFTER PAYING YOUR INVOICE.

As of March 1, 2025, MAAG is not liable to handle insurance claims. If an item is damaged in transit, it is on the bidder to submit a claim through the post office: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm.

As of May 1, 2025, if MAAG needs to use a third-party shipper, it is between the bidder and third party to handle shipping, including packaging and cost. MAAG can deliver to a third party, dependent on size, but will not act as liaison between bidder and third party.

NC Sales Tax

Sales Tax:
We are required to charge North Carolina sales tax at the current rate unless you provide us with a valid resale number at registration. Property picked up at Mebane Antique Auction Gallery is subject to North Carolina sales tax, even if you live out-of-state (unless you provide us with a valid resale number).

Bidders who are tax exempt need to send this documentation to [email protected]. We cannot accept tax exempt paperwork. If you do not submit to Invaluable, we will charge you the appropriate sales tax.
