A pair of Victorian-era sterling silver forks produced by the Whiting Manufacturing Company in the Louis XV pattern, which was patented in 1891. These forks feature wide, four-tined heads, with one fork possessing a gold-washed vermeil finish to the head. The handles are decorated in an ornate Rococo style with high-relief scrollwork and foliate motifs. Both forks feature an interlaced monogram on the obverse handle terminal. The following marks are present on the reverse: Manufacturer's Mark: The Whiting Manufacturing Company trademark, consisting of a stylized lion holding a shield with a W.Material and Patent Mark: Stamped STERLING PAT 1891. Materials: .925 sterling silver, one with gold wash. Total weight 60g.
