Exceptional DWM Model 1900 "American Eagle" Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster One of less than 12,000 manufactured c. 1900-1906. The Model 1900 was the first production Luger semi-automatic pistol offered by DWM to the international commercial market, with the "American Eagle" variants intended specifically for export to the lucrative United States market, found in the approximate serial number range of 2000-20000 per page 56 of "Lugers at Random" by Charles Kenyon Jr. Features the distinct American "Great Seal of the United States" eagle crest on top of the barrel extension, the "DWM" monogram marked on top of the toggle link, fixed blade front and notch rear sights, dished toggles with a toggle lock, narrow trigger, a checkered thumb safety lever, and a "GERMANY" export mark on front of the frame. Matching full commercial pattern serial numbers on the frame and barrel, along with matching partial serial numbers on various small parts including the barrel extension. The checkered walnut grips have the number "6" and a small asterisk stamped on both of the interiors. The nickel finished magazine has a correctly unmarked walnut base. Includes a period leather holster with "V.N.IT" handwritten on the interior of the flap.
