MARGUERITE OSWALD (1907 - 1986) Mother of Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. LEE HARVEY OSWALD'S MOTHER BORROW'S AGAINST HER MURDERER SON'S LIFE INSURANCE POLICY Incredible partly -printed D.S. 1p. 4to., 1952, a form issued by The National Life and Accident Insurance Company, filled-out in pencil by Marguerite Oswald and requesting a loan against life insurance policy 942157 in the amount of $58.00. At bottom, she notes: 'Make ck payable to Marguerite C. Oswald, Owner'. The document bears a purple stamp: LOAN COMPLETED SEP 26 1951' Matted with a portrait of a young Lee Harvey mugging for the camera while in class, and set into a fine wood frame measuring 27 in. x 20 in. Fine condition, not examined out of frame. National Life and Accident Insurance Company Policy No. 942157 was purchased by Marguerite Oswald and issued in the name of her son, future assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. On December 26, 1963, just 32 days following Oswald's murder by Jack Ruby in the garage of the Dallas Police Department, Marguerite Oswald filed a claim on the same policy number, in her sons name (copy of the claim document included). The insurance company honored their obligation and paid Mrs. Oswald the sum $863.00. Four years ago that claim document, which also was signed by Marguerite, realized $79,436 at auction.
