An attractive assembled collection of fifteen vintage open salt cellars and individual condiment servers in a variety of pressed and molded art glass forms, offered together with four serving spoons. The group showcases an appealing assortment of colors and patterns including clear, amber, pink, lavender, and bright blue examples. Forms include classic hexagonal salts, square salts, oval pedestal salts, and deeply cut fan and geometric patterns representative of early to mid-20th century tableware design. Several examples feature substantial molded construction with prism-cut or faceted exteriors that beautifully refract light. Included are four assorted serving spoons comprising two stainless steel salt spoons, one translucent plastic spoon, and one decorative gilt metal spoon with a red enamel handle. The collection offers excellent display potential and is ideal for collectors of vintage table accessories, pressed glass, or period dining appointments. These charming vessels also lend themselves well to serving specialty salts, spices, condiments, caviar accompaniments, preserves, or small garnishes. An appealing decorative grouping that combines color, form, and craftsmanship while providing an attractive ready-made starter or addition to an existing collection.

  • Literature: Open salt cellars remained an elegant feature of formal dining throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Produced in pressed glass, crystal, and colored glass by numerous American and European manufacturers, they were often paired with individual salt spoons and continue to be appreciated by collectors for their variety of forms, colors, and decorative patterns.
  • Circa: Mid-20th century, with some examples possibly earlier.
  • Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Light surface wear and minor scratching consistent with age and use. No major chips or cracks observed in the photographed examples. Assorted spoons exhibit light wear appropriate to age. Buyers should review photographs for the complete assortment and overall condition.
