A collection of five decorative porcelain cabinet and commemorative display plates, each representing a unique theme of historical, institutional, floral, or celebratory interest. The group includes a richly gilt Stephens College heraldic plate featuring the school's coat of arms and motto; a Salem China "Scene of Great Events in our American History" Independence Hall commemorative plate with detailed border vignettes of Philadelphia landmarks; an embossed Wellsburg Reformed Church (Wellsburg, Iowa) anniversary plate depicting the historic church and bearing commemorative text to the reverse; a Limoges France porcelain cabinet plate decorated with delicate lily-of-the-valley blossoms accented by a gilt rim; and a Silver 25th Anniversary commemorative porcelain plate with an engraved-style silver-tone border celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary. The Stephens College plate displays an elegant raised gilt border surrounding the institution's crest, reflecting the long tradition of custom collegiate presentation china produced for American educational institutions. The Independence Hall example, manufactured by Salem China Company, forms part of the popular "Scenes of Great Events in Our American History" series, illustrating one of America's most iconic historic buildings while incorporating decorative medallions of Philadelphia landmarks around the border. The Wellsburg Reformed Church plate features a raised floral embossed border and a color rendering of the church, with historical information printed on the reverse documenting the congregation's founding in 1897 and subsequent history.
