康熙帝 Kangxi Emperor mark and period (1662-1722), Chinese porcelain vase with 3 groups of court people, Qing dynasty A Chinese Baluster form porcelain vase, having a Scholarly palace scene. Bamboo motif neck with flared rim. Underside bears a blue 6- character Kangxi mark (1662-1722). Imperial reign mark: Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi. (Made during the Kangxi period of the Great Qing dynasty), in a double circle, underglaze blue. Height: 18.75" = 47.62 cm Diameter: 8.25" = 21 cm; Weight: 6 lb. 3.1 oz. = 2 kg 811 g = 2,811 g; Condition: used, but perfect, no defects Prove of authenticity: 1) Natural wear of the base rim, 2) hand-painted figures and 6 character mark at the bottom, 3) Microscopic at x50 magnification research proved microscopic gas bubbles of different size, which were common in porcelain technique production, used several hundred years ago. Provenance: private collection in St. Petersburg, FL, USA.
