JOHN BUCHANAN FLOYD (1806-1863) SIGNED 1850 HARDY CO., (NOW WEST) VIRGINIA LAND GRANT DOCUMENT, printed and manuscript on paper, granting 1205 acres of land in Hardy Co., Virginia to Adam Wolfe, Jr., dated May 1, 1849. Signed by Governor John Buchanan Floyd and dated November 1, 1850, with full papered seal applied on lower left corner. Professionally matted. Dated 1849 and 1850. 10 3/4" x 16 3/4" object, 22" x 28" OA.
Catalogue Note: (1) John Buchanan Floyd was the 31st Governor of Virginia (1849-1852); (2) Hardy Co. was one of the fifty counties that seceded from the state of Virginia and joined the Union as West Virginia on June 20, 1863.

  • Condition:

    Paper in excellent condition with three horizontal folds and one vertical center fold, has some slight foxing and discoloration with age.
