Cast black aluminum with wrinkled paint finish, second model with an open slot at front where a black drum houses the two-minute clockwork automatic averaging attachment. An identification plate at back of the clockwork stamped with serial no. 7533/41, while on the bubble sextant in which print next to handle, it reads: ‘A.M. A black plug adapter of unidentified voltage is secured by two metal brackets within the case, with an 80 in. purple braided cord attached to a brown G&C 250v two-pin plug stamped ‘Made in England'. On the opposite side, one blackened wooden tube measuring 1.25 x 3.8 in. is attached with four similar clips. The original instruction manual and calibration sheet are present. The bubble sextant was introduced in 1938 and widely used by the Royal Air Force during World War II.
