Left Handed P. L. Holehan Safari Hunter Bolt Action Dangerous Game Rifle in .404 Jeffery Patrick Holehan began building custom rifles in Tucson, AZ, around 1994 and has garnered a reputation as one of the United States' premier gunmakers. This rifle was built with a satin blued steel cryo-treated Krieger barrel featuring cut rifling, a beaded blade front sight on a ramped base with removable hood, a barrel band sling swivel, and a rear quarter rib fitted with a two-leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight with platinum center lines. The barrel is marked with the caliber "404 Jeffery" at the left of the chamber and "P. L. Holehan Tucson AZ" on the right side forward of the breech. The barrel is fitted to the blued recent production left handed Model 70 controlled round feed action which has been converted to double square bridge configuration and masterfully trued shows the hand cut serial number, "WINCHESTER M70" on the top of the action rail, and "Safari Hunter" on the right side of the action wall. The action features a jewelled bolt body, a four-panel checkered bolt knob, checkered bolt release, and a set quick detach 30 mm Talley Lever Lock scope rings. The hinged Grizzly style bottom metal by Sunny Hill Ent. with straddle floorplate and inside-the-bow release trigger guard are also blue and feature the "Oberndorf bump" allowing for an extra magnum round in the magazine as well as a silver inlaid "J/T" on the trigger guard. The rifle is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point wrap checkered pistol grip stock with an ebony forend tip, dual ebony capped crossbolts, a lightly scrolled machined screwless grip cap, left handed cheekpiece, Ken Howell inletted blued sling stud, and a Decelerator recoil pad.
