Excellent Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector Fourth Model of 1950 "Pre-Model 21" Double Action Revolver with Original Box Manufactured c. 1955-1956, this is a very scarce example of one of only 1,200 .44 Hand Ejector Fourth Model of 1950 "Pre-Model 21" revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson according to Supica and Nahas in "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson". In 1957 these revolvers transitioned to be the Model 21. The revolver has the standard Smith & Wesson markings, including the matching serial number on the butt, in the ejector rod housing, rear face of the cylinder, front face of the ejector star, rear face of the crane, and inside the right grip panel. The matching assembly number is on the frame and crane. It is fitted with the standard pattern sights for this model including a rounded blade front sight and frame-top groove rear sight, as well as a pair of checkered walnut magna grips with "S&W" monogram medallions at the tops. Includes the original Smith & Wesson gold box, hand-numbered to the gun on the bottom and with an additional "1950 MODEL" label added to the top of the lid.

  • Condition: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish and original case colors on the hammer and trigger with a few extremely light handling marks and a light cylinder turn line. The grips are also excellent with a few light dings, handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with some mild wear. This outstanding example of the Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector Fourth Model of 1950 would be very difficult to improve upon!
