A lot of three volumes exploring themes of African-American and Caribbean art with French connections. The collection includes one hardcover monograph and two softcover exhibition catalogues. The first volume is Theresa Leininger-Miller, New Negro Artists in Paris: African American Painters and Sculptors in the City of Light, 1922-1934, published by Rutgers University Press in 2001. This hardcover work with a dust jacket features seven chapters focusing on individual artists including Nancy Elizabeth Prophet, Palmer Hayden, Hale Woodruff, Archibald J. Motley Jr., Augusta Savage, and Albert Alexander Smith. The second volume is Paris Connections: African American Artists in Paris, edited by Asake Bomani and Belvie Rooks, published by Q.E.D. Press in 1992. Identified as a first edition on the copyright page, this softcover book was published for exhibitions at the Bomani Gallery and Jernigan Wicker Fine Arts in San Francisco. It includes bibliographic references and an index. ISBN 0-936609-25-7. The third volume is A Haitian Celebration: Art and Culture, by Ute Stebich, published by the Milwaukee Art Museum in 1992.
