This pair of round bowl soup spoons is crafted in the Louis XV pattern by the Whiting Manufacturing Company. Introduced in 1891, the pattern is a Rococo-revival design characterized by ornate asymmetrical scrolls, foliate details, and shell motifs along the handles. The spoons feature deep, circular bowls. Each handle terminal is engraved with a different script monogram. The reverse of the handles is stamped with the Whiting Manufacturing Company hallmark of a lion passant facing right, followed by STERLING, the patent date PAT. 1891, and a capital letter M. Total weight 82g.
