Excellent and Rare Documented First Produced Massachusetts State Police Test Sample 3 Inch Barrel Smith & Wesson Model 19-2 "Combat Magnum" Double Action Revolver with Original Box and Factory Letter The "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" lists this revolver by serial number as what is believed to be the first 3 inch barrel Model 19 revolver produced. The included factory letter states it was manufactured on March 10, 1965, and confirms the configuration, including the 3 inch barrel, round butt frame, blue finish, target hammer and trigger, as one of a special lot of revolvers sent to the K. M. Williams Company of Kansas City, Missouri, (a long time factory sales representative) for testing by the Massachusetts State Police. It features a fixed gold insert ramped blade front and adjustable white outline notch rear sight's on a serrated rib, the caliber designation on the right of the barrel, the Smith & Wesson address and trade mark on the right side of the frame, and the model designation marked on the frame under the crane. Matching full serial numbers on the frame, ejector, and butt, along with matching "65841" assembly numbers on the grip frame and crane. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut magna grips with Smith & Wesson medallion inserts and a matching serial number stamped on the interior of the right panel. Also includes the original box and cleaning tools.
