This statue looks like 明代珐华彩骑马俑 = Fa Hua glazing ceramic Equestrian figurine from Ming dynasty (1368--1644). 1. This statue is made roughly from two molds first, one mold for the front of the statue, 2. Another mold for the back part of the statue. 3. Then next step is to put the two parts together to make it a whole statue. 4. Third step is to modify the statue by hand. 5. Last step is to fire it in kiln. Sometimes the two parts would be separate after firing in kiln, and the statue would be like this in the picture. According to the dress, the man should be an official, the warier usually carry a sword or something. The assessment was provided by the expert from Jingdezhen, China. - Provenance: this item comes from the private collection of Lou A. and Barbara B. Pritchett. Lou Pritchett was the ex-Vice President of Procter and Gamble. Lou Pritchett rose through the ranks at Procter & Gamble and was instrumental in the creation of the partnership between Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart. Pritchett was instrumental in bringing Proctor & Gamble to the Phillipines during his time there. Now retired, Lou is a sought-after public speaker and author of Stop Paddling & Start Rocking the Boat. Special fitted wooden stand is included.
