This collection comprises documents, photographs, and personal effects belonging to Paul Revere Auerhamer (also spelled Auerhammer), spanning the pre-WWII era through the mid-1950s. Auerhamer is identified in correspondence as a Philco Technical Representative attached to the 1804th AACS Group (Airways and Air Communications Service) based at APO 942, which corresponds to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The photographic portion of the archive contains a collection of black and white snapshots, many featuring border date stamps of September and October 1955. Content includes group portraits of US military personnel in various uniforms, Arctic landscapes, military base interiors and exteriors, and multiple views of a crashed B-17 Flying Fortress. Ephemera includes multiple envelopes and letters postmarked 1952 addressed to Auerhamer; a 1952 Officers' Club membership card for Elmendorf Air Force Base; a 1939 swimming certificate from the Municipal Gymnasium and Baths in Brookline, Massachusetts; and membership materials for the International Masonic Radio Club (call sign WA8RBN) and the Military Order of the Cootie. Physical artifacts include a star-shaped bronze-toned medal on a red, white, and blue ribbon inscribed Crusading Engineers CMC Check Specs, an embroidered star patch with the number 91, a yellow plastic Lakeshore Corvettes name tag, and several eagle-motif lapel pins. Personal items include an Old Timer brand folding pocket knife with a brown jigged handle, a leather-cased set of nail clippers, a 1950s hunting license tag in a canvas holder, and a religious-themed keychain.
