An attractive Southwestern Native American sterling silver safety pin brooch featuring a vibrant oval turquoise cabochon in a serrated bezel, accented with hand-fabricated silver appliqués including a feather, spiral, and floral motif. The decorative elements are mounted to an oversized functional safety pin form, combining traditional Native American silversmithing techniques with a distinctive wearable design. The bright blue turquoise matrix stone provides a striking focal point, complemented by oxidized details that emphasize the handcrafted silverwork. The feather motif, long associated with Native American jewelry traditions, symbolizes honor and spiritual connection, while the spiral and floral elements lend visual balance and artisan character. The reverse bears an impressed hallmark, though the maker has not been conclusively identified from the photographs. Pieces of this nature were produced by skilled Southwestern artisans, particularly Navajo and Zuni silversmiths, during the latter half of the 20th century and remain highly collectible for their individuality and craftsmanship. A versatile accessory suitable as a brooch, shawl pin, scarf pin, or decorative accent, offering both functional appeal and authentic Southwestern style.

  • Provenance: Southwestern Native American sterling jewelry featuring turquoise has been produced by Navajo, Zuni, and other Indigenous silversmiths since the late 19th century. Decorative safety pin brooches became a popular form during the mid- to late-20th century, combining traditional hand-fabricated silverwork with practical wearable design.
  • Circa: Late 20th Century, circa 1970–1990.
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition. Displays light surface wear and a naturally aged patina consistent with age and use. Turquoise cabochon appears secure within its bezel setting. Pin mechanism operates as intended. Hallmark present on reverse but not fully identified.
