This is a handcrafted desktop display model of a Messerschmitt Bf 109, the primary Luftwaffe fighter aircraft used during World War II. The model is constructed from hand-carved wood with a painted finish. It features a detailed three-tone grey and blue mottled camouflage pattern. Design elements include a bright yellow nose cowling, a yellow tail rudder, and a three-blade propeller with a green and yellow spinner. Historical markings are represented throughout, including the Balkenkreuz national insignia on the wings and fuselage, a swastika on the vertical stabilizer, and a command chevron with an arrow on the fuselage side. Below the cockpit is a small personal emblem depicting a cartoon mouse and a shield containing the number 5. The aircraft is mounted on a carved wood display stand with a dark stained finish. The base of the stand features gold-toned lettering that reads Messerschmitt Bf 109 SCALE 1/32. A white auction lot tag from Atlee Raber Auctions, numbered 446, is attached to the stand via a string. Scale: 1/32.
