Two Rare Chinese 19th Century Celadon Famille Rose Shrimp Dishes
China, Qing period, the first a fine and rare celadon glaze shaped dish with extended handle rim, the interior finely painted and decorated with young deer, exotic birds, butterflies and lavish botanicals. The border gilt and painted in looping design which support baskets of flowers and stylized floral medallions, the base of which ties in to an unusual blue enamel border for the central cartouche. The base having an applied mark: Canton 1876 (1 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches). Paired with another fine celadon shrimp dish with two birds amongst deep crimson blooms and butterflies (1 7/8 x 9 1/2 x 10 5/8 inches).

  • Dimensions: Largest: 1 7/8 x 9 1/2 x 10 5/8 inches
  • Condition: Both in very good condition, expected gilding rubs, the larger dish has an underglaze firing line to the to rim which does not extend underneath. No chips or cracks.
