This 1885 US Morgan Silver Dollar is a struck coin produced at the Philadelphia Mint. It is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The piece features the Morgan Liberty head obverse and the Morgan eagle reverse. Inscriptions include the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM, the motto In God We trust, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. The absence of a mint mark below the wreath identifies the Philadelphia Mint as the point of origin. The 1885 Philadelphia issue is the most common issue date in the series.
