Paxton's Magazine of Botany...Volume the Fourth...London: W.S. Orr...MDCCCXXXVIII [1838]. 8vo. 279 pp. 43 hand clored plates including 6 double page plates, all in stunning condition. Original 3/4 leather binding with green moiré cloth covers. Spine with 3 raised bands with gilt decorations. Gilt lettering in two of the spine panels. All edges gilt. Light wear to spine tips and other edges, but overall in very good condition. Owner's bookplate to front pastedown.

Curtis's Botanical Magazine...By Sir William Jackson Hooker...Vol. IV of the Third Series (or Volume LXXIV. of the Whole Work)...London: Reeve, Benham, and Reeve...1848 8 vo. Contemporary 3/4 sheep binding with marbled boards. With 71 hand colored plates, many are double page. All appear to be in excellent condition. The binding is tight and sound, with rubbing to the leather , bumped corners, some loss of paper at turn-ins, but overall in very good condition.

W. Robinson  The English Flower Garden and Home Grounds...Illustrated with many Engravings on Wood Eighth Edition...London John Murray...mdcccciii[1903] Two Volumes. Bound in green leather with cloth boards. 8vo. Profusely illustrated. Top edge gilt. Bindings with some wear to spine tips and board corners and lightly elsewhere. Spotting to covers. But still in very good condition. A nice copy of a British classic.

All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items. New England Auctions will not wrap or box any item going out of our facility. Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held up to seven business days before an item is released for shipping.

Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 10am and 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.
