WAR OF 1812 AS REPORTED IN NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER
Niles Weekly Register was a national magazine published in Baltimore, Maryland by Hezekiah Niles from 1811 to 1848. The most widely circulated magazine of its time, the Register was the nation's first weekly newsmagazine and 'exerted a powerful influence on the early national discourse.' Fine selection of twenty complete copies and one partial copy of Niles' Weekly Register, all issued between 1812 and 1815 and containing content concerning the War of 1812. This news includes reports from the front, letters and messages exchanged between governments, military forces, etc., and the issues contain a great deal of other political news as well, including presidential letters and messages. The Feb. 18, 1815 issue covers the Treaty of Ghent, Mar. 27, 1813 dedicated to American seamen then being impressed, Feb. 11, 1815 covering the Battle of New Orleans, and much more. All of the issues are disbound and in excellent condition, with contemporary content unobtainable in current histories.

Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
