AMERICAN PAINTED BENTWOOD PANTRY BOXES, LOT OF FIVE, graduated assembled set, each of covered circular form, lapped construction with various metal tacks. Each retaining original painted surfaces, the smallest example in pale mustard yellow, three blue examples and a red example. Smallest blue example retaining a period label on the side reading "C Starch" probably for corn starch, the top of the cover having an illegible faint pencil inscription. 19th century. 2 1/4" to 5 1/4" H to top of covers, 5 3/4" to 10 1/2" D tops.

    Very good overall condition, each with expected minor to moderate wear.
