A pair of solid sterling silver place forks in the Louis XV pattern by the Whiting Manufacturing Company. Introduced in 1891, the pattern features Rococo Revival styling with ornate scrolling handle edges and shell flourishes at the terminal and shoulders. The reverse neck of each fork bears the Whiting maker mark of a lion passant facing right and a stylized W, followed by the purity mark STERLING and a patent date stamp for 1891. The reverse of the handles is stamped for the retailer HENRY BOHM CO. A script monogram letter R is engraved on the front handle terminals. Total weight 70g.
