A striking late 19th to early 20th century Victorian art glass jardinière of impressive scale, executed in richly colored pink satin glass and lavishly embellished with applied enamel decoration. The bulbous vessel is adorned with flowering branches in high-relief white enamel blossoms accented with finely hand-painted gilt foliage and raised dark enamel branches, creating a beautifully dimensional floral composition inspired by blossoming cherry or fruit trees. The broad flared rim is finished with a substantial gilt border, while the softly satinized interior contrasts elegantly with the polished exterior. The jardinière retains its original carved hardwood display stand of Chinese taste, elevating the vessel and complementing its decorative presence. A painted artist's or decorator's signature is present to the interior/base (illustrated), though it has not been definitively identified. The workmanship suggests a high-quality Continental or Bohemian decorative art glass workshop dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period. An exceptional statement piece suitable as a jardinière, cachepot, or decorative centerpiece, equally at home in traditional, Art Nouveau, or eclectic interiors.

  • Condition: Overall very good antique condition. Minor expected wear to the gilt rim and decoration consistent with age and careful use.
