Mourning portrait miniature on ivory

depicting a woman in black holding a handkerchief and resting her head in her hand as she leans against a memorial to "J.T. 5th May 1791". Memorial topped with an urn and nestled below a weeping willow, with a pair of doves in the sky above and a cat seated beside the foot. Housed in a gilt metal pendant frame with an aperture on reverse showing a hairwork plume.

  • Dimensions: Watercolor, 1.25" x 1". Framed 2" x 1.1875".
