The offset lithograph with printed title and signature was a December 1945 Gift Print from the Boeing Company in Wichita. The print is listed in the artist's catalogue raisonne by Myers and Thompson (p. 87).

Charles Capps studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts before settling in Wichita, Kansas where he became known for his mastery of etching, and later, his aquatints which he began producing after meeting Doel Reed in the 1930s. Capps' prints are noted for their subtle tonal variations, technical precision, and poetic sense of place. The adobe architecture of Taos and Santa Fe became one of his favorite and most sought-after subjects. Charles Capps was a charter member and longtime president of the Prairie Print Makers, a Kansas-based print society dedicated to advancing fine art prints across America.

  • Condition: Apparently the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. Not laid down, close margins.

Shipping

SHIPPING: After verifying that payment has been made and or all funds have cleared, Dirk Soulis Antiques LLC DBA Soulis Auctions will, as a courtesy to the client, undertake the packing and shipping of most purchases. Large items, Furniture, International Shipments and items deemed excessively fragile by Soulis Auctions may require special handling by a third party. Soulis Auctions will coordinate with the buyer's chosen shipper in these instances and will endeavor to provide as much assistance as possible. The cost for shipping handled in-house starts at $16 per box and or the actual cost of wood crate construction, in addition to the cost of insurance and postage or carrier charges. The cost of crates range by size; the majority fall into the range of $50 to $150.

STORAGE AND CARE: All bidders agree that property left at Soulis Auctions storage facilities more than 30 days past the date of sale becomes the complete and total responsibility of the buyer. Soulis Auctions will in no way be responsible for the safety of said property, Soulis will not reimburse for any damage or loss incurred after the free 30 day storage option offered as a gesture to buyer. Any and all property passes from the care, custody and control of Soulis Auctions to seller on day 31.
