HUGO SPERRLE AND ERICH PETERSEN
HUGO SPERRLE (1885 - 1953) German field marshal of the Luftwaffe during World War II, captured by the Allies and charged with war crimes in the High Command Trial at the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials but was acquitted. War-date partly-printed D.S., 4pp. 4to., [n.p.], Jan. 6, 1944, a 'vorschlag' or award recommendation for the issuance of the German Cross in Silver to be made to Generalleutnant JOSEF FOLTMANN (1887-1958), then commanding the 338th Infantry Division and whose distinguished record is set forth, including his service in France, the Balkans, and North Africa. Signed on the first page by Sperrle, also signed by Luftwaffe Gen. ERICH PETERSEN (1889-1963), an infantry general who participated in the Battle of France and the Balkans campaign and was then transferred to the Luftwaffe. Petersen served as commander of the 7th Air Division, until being tapped for promotion to commanding general of the IV Luftwaffe Field Corps. He also served as commanding general of the LXXXX Army Corps. Following the war, he was tried and acquitted of war crimes in France.

Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
