This lot features two Royal Doulton earthenware vessels from different production periods. The first item is a tapered pitcher decorated in the Windmill Landscape pattern (D2538), also known as Woodley Dell. The vessel features a silhouette landscape scene depicting a windmill and tall trees against a vibrant yellow and ochre sky. The lower section of the body is finished in a solid lime green glaze, separated from the upper scene by a black band. It includes a molded rope-twist handle with ochre highlights. The base bears the Royal Doulton underglaze black printed backstamp used between 1902 and 1922, and the hand-painted pattern number D2538. The second item is a two-handled commemorative loving cup titled Pottery in the Past (D6696). The body is relief-molded and polychrome hand-painted. One side illustrates two women at work decorating large ceramic vases in a workshop, while the reverse depicts a village scene featuring traditional Staffordshire bottle kilns. The cup is designed with two dark brown scroll handles and a lobed brown base. The rim is bordered with a molded green leaf and yellow X motif. The base bears a printed backstamp for the Royal Doulton International Collectors Club, identifying the piece as an exclusive club edition from 1982 modeled by J.G. Tongue.
