An elegant two-piece Wedgwood Jasperware grouping comprising a square covered trinket box and a matching oval pin tray, each executed in the iconic pale blue jasper body with applied white neoclassical relief decoration. The trinket box features a classical figural scene framed by a laurel wreath border, with floral sprig ornament adorning each side. The accompanying oval tray is decorated with playful cherubic figures beneath a tree at center, accented by finely modeled floral garlands around the scalloped rim. Developed in the late 18th century by Josiah Wedgwood, Jasperware remains one of the firm's most celebrated innovations, prized for its matte finish and crisp white reliefs inspired by ancient Greek and Roman art. The soft "Wedgwood Blue" color has become synonymous with English ceramic excellence and continues to be highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Both pieces retain impressed Wedgwood marks to the underside and are accompanied by the original "Wedgwood – A Living Tradition" booklet, enhancing the appeal of this attractive decorative ensemble. Ideal for display, jewelry storage, or as an addition to a collection of English ceramics and Jasperware.

  • Literature: Wedgwood Jasperware, England. Jasperware was introduced by Josiah Wedgwood in 1774 and remains one of the most recognizable and enduring forms of British decorative ceramics, distinguished by its matte colored body and applied white neoclassical relief decoration.
  • Circa: Late 20th century.
  • Condition: Very good overall condition. Both pieces are free from apparent chips, cracks, or repairs. Light surface wear and minor handling marks consistent with careful use and age. Original Wedgwood booklet included.
