This Wedgwood porcelain cabinet plate is decorated in the Royal Vienna style and features provenance from the Rubin Collection. The center of the plate contains a hand-painted portrait of a woman in late 19th-century attire, characterized by a wide-brimmed hat with ostrich plumes and a white lace-trimmed dress with purple roses pinned to the bodice. The surrounding cream-colored ground is decorated with a repeating pattern of gilded fern sprigs. The plate is finished with a wide gilt band at the rim. The reverse displays an impressed Wedgwood factory mark along with additional impressed symbols and year cyphers. It also bears a circular Rubin Collection sticker and a rectangular sticker with handwritten notations including the date circa 1884.
