A fine pair of American Classical mahogany armchairs, circa 1820–1840, each with shaped tablet crest rail, upholstered back and seat, gracefully swept rear supports, and bold molded arms terminating in carved volutes. The front supports feature carved anthemion and scroll details above saber-form legs, with the chairs retaining a rich mahogany surface and later red upholstery with decorative trim. The pair reflects the elegant Greco-Roman influence of the American Classical period. 37 in. H, 23.5 in. W, 20 in. D, 16 in. seat height.

  • Condition: Good overall presentation with scattered surface wear, minor finish rubs, small repairs, and expected abrasions from age and use.
