An elegant pair of Lalique France "Bacchantes" crystal double old fashioned glasses, executed in the firm's iconic combination of satin-frosted and clear crystal. Each tumbler is decorated in continuous relief with the celebrated Bacchantes motif—graceful classical female figures inspired by the followers of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine. Originally conceived by René Lalique in 1927, the Bacchantes pattern remains one of the maison's most enduring and recognizable designs, embodying the artistry of French Art Deco glassmaking. The contrasting frosted figures against the polished crystal body create exceptional depth and luminosity, while the substantial weighted bases provide balance and a luxurious hand feel. Equally suited for whiskey, cocktails, or display, these glasses exemplify the timeless sophistication for which Lalique is internationally renowned. Founded by René Lalique (1860–1945), Lalique transformed the decorative arts through innovative glassmaking and later crystal production, becoming synonymous with exceptional craftsmanship and refined French luxury. The Bacchantes collection continues to be among the firm's most sought-after patterns, appreciated by collectors and connoisseurs alike. A handsome pair of luxury crystal tumblers that combine sculptural beauty with everyday functionality.

  • Literature: René Lalique introduced the Bacchantes motif in 1927, drawing inspiration from classical mythology and the female followers of Bacchus. The design has become one of Lalique's signature patterns and continues to be produced in various forms, including vases, stemware, barware, and decorative objects.
  • Circa: Late 20th to Early 21st Century.
  • Condition: Overall very good condition. Both glasses appear free of visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Light surface wear and minor shelf marks consistent with careful use. Please examine photographs closely as they form part of the condition report.
