This Roseville Pottery Magnolia Brown planter is a cornucopia-style flower arranger, identified as shape number 183-6. The ceramic vessel features an asymmetrical, crescent-shaped body with a large scroll detail at one end. The exterior is decorated with relief-molded white magnolia blossoms on dark branches against a textured ground of ochre, tan, and shaded green. The body is supported by a dark brown rectangular pedestal base that incorporates two angular, open handles. The piece is finished in a matte glaze characteristic of mid-20th-century American art pottery. Roseville USA raised mark on base.
