AMERICAN PAINT-DECORATED TREEN BARREL, of stave construction with iron hoops, retains an old painted surface with later-added "BUTTER MILK" lettering on the front. Together with a round cutting/cheese board used as the cover and a round block of wax or soap somewhat resembling a wheel of cheese, as displayed by Patsy Martin. Three pieces total. Late 19th/20th century. Barrel 27" HOA, 17 1/2" D top.

    The estate collection of Patsy Martin, Chambersburg, PA.

  • Condition:

    Good overall condition with typical minor to moderate surface wear; typical minor looseness, warping, and separation to the staves of the barrel; the cutting board with an old repaired break.
