A pair of sterling silver individual fish forks in the Louis XV pattern, manufactured by the Whiting Manufacturing Company. Each fork is designed with a wide four-tine head and a characteristic notched outer tine used for separating fish from bone. The handles feature an ornate Rococo Revival design with scrolling foliate edges and a fanned shell motif at the terminal tip. The front of each handle is engraved with an interlaced script monogram, which appears to be the letter M. The reverse of the handles is stamped with the Whiting Manufacturing Company trademark, a lion rampant holding a shield marked with a W, followed by the word STERLING and the patent date PAT 1891.
