A charming vintage Japanese porcelain partial luncheon and tea service produced by SC Japan in the elegant "Pansy" pattern. Beautifully decorated with delicate hand-colored purple pansies and trailing blossoms against a bright white porcelain ground, each piece is accented with fine gilt rims, creating a refined and timeless presentation. Manufactured in Japan during the mid-20th century, SC (often attributed to Southern China/Japan export wares bearing the SC mark) produced finely decorated porcelain for the American export market. The Pansy pattern exemplifies the graceful floral motifs that made Japanese porcelain highly desirable for entertaining during the post-war era. The lot comprises an attractive assortment of matching service pieces, including six teacups, six saucers, five luncheon or salad plates measuring approximately 8 inches in diameter, and five fruit, dessert, or berry bowls measuring approximately 5½ inches in diameter, for an approximate total of twenty-two pieces. With its elegant floral decoration, crisp white porcelain, and tasteful gilt accents, this coordinated service is equally suitable for display, afternoon tea, or as an addition to a collection of vintage Japanese porcelain.

  • Condition: Overall very good vintage condition. The porcelain is clean and displays well with light surface wear and minor utensil marks consistent with careful age and use. Gilt decoration remains generally well preserved with minor expected wear to some rims. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are apparent from the photographs, though each piece should be individually examined prior to cataloging.
