    London, Royal Academy, British Institute, 1862-1893 (per label affixed to stretcher)
  • Condition: Framed: 29 x 41 in.
    Moderate surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined and margins are trimmed; frame abrasions along edges with associated instances of scattered paint loss; inpainting along lower right edge, visible under normal viewing conditions; minor craquelure throughout, with more prominent instances in upper right quadrant, proper center, and lower left quadrant. Under UV light: scattered concentrations of inpainting throughout sky, in addition to aforementioned instances of inpainting at lower right corner. Additional images available upon request.
