A substantial 19th-century wood folding game cabinet of impressive scale. This board is designed to be used for either proper bagatelle or Le Trou Madam, and can be played in combination or against opposite sides. This 'long' bagatelle board is designed as a self-contained case, measuring 84 inches in length when fully extended. The piece is hinged in the center, allowing it to fold into a compact rectangular chest. The interior features a traditional arched top with inset scoring cups, surfaced in green baize or felt. As a tabletop model without legs, it was intended to be placed on a large dining table or a separate trestle stand during play. A quintessential example of Victorian-era large-scale parlor entertainment. Approximately 84x22.5 inches (unfolded).

  • Condition: Showing age-appropriate wear to the exterior finish and typical wear to the interior playing surface. Some loss of felt. The wooden arches are missing some of their columns.
