This collection of fine bone china and glazed ceramic commemorative items primarily celebrates the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and the 100th birthday of the Queen Mother. The group includes an ER teacup and miscellaneous commemorative wares featuring various royal portraits and cyphers. The collection includes a Paragon fine bone china teacup and saucer set produced for the 1953 Coronation. The saucer features a pale blue ground with heavy gold-gilt scrollwork, the ER cypher, and a central floral spray. The reverse bears the Paragon royal warrant mark, the inscription To Commemorate the Coronation of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, and pattern number A.1455. An Aynsley fine bone china teacup and saucer set is included, decorated with a ruby red ground and extensive gold gilding. The saucer features a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II framed by the Union Jack and St. George's Cross. The cup rim is inscribed Westminster Abbey June 2nd, 1953. A second Aynsley fine bone china set consists of a small straight-sided cup and saucer in pale green. The cup features a color portrait of the Queen flanked by flags and roses, while the saucer is decorated with a central crown and laurel wreath border. The collection also features a Prinknash Pottery glazed ceramic trinket box commemorating the 100th birthday of the Queen Mother, dated August 4, 2000. The lid displays a portrait of the Queen Mother in a blue hat, and the base bears the Prinknash Pottery Gloucester mark. Completing the lot is a globular ceramic pomander with a yellow ground and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II within a floral frame. The base has small, perforated holes for scent and retains a blue and gold foil label reading Ceramic Pomander Filled with Perfumed flowers.
