Excellent World War II 1945 Production U.S. Winchester M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine Manufactured in 1945, from the fourth and final production block (serial number range 7,234,884 to 7,369,660) of U.S. M1 Carbines made by Winchester Repeating Arms Co. between June and August 1945, which also included M2 carbines. It has fixed winged blade front and adjustable "shield/H" marked milled peep rear sights, an unmarked type 3 barrel band with bayonet lug, an undated Winchester "WP" proofed barrel, "W" marked round-top blued bolt, "W" type 4 operating rod, and a "W" milled trigger housing with "W" type 5 magazine catch, "J.A.O." rotary safety lever, and "W" type 3 hammer. Fitted with a "W" marked four-rivet walnut handguard and a M2 profile low-wood walnut stock, marked "W" in the sling inlet, "C" under the grip, and "ordnance wheel" on the right of the butt, with a "W" marked recoil plate. Includes a web sling faintly marked "MRT" and a metal oiler. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and is considered an assault weapon in some states.   • Condition: Excellent, retaining 98% original parkerized and 90% plus original blue finishes with some light wear, dried grease, a small patch of oxidation on the buttplate, and clear markings. The wood is also excellent with limited minor wear and crisp stamps. Mechanically excellent. Overall a very attractive original example of a 1945 fourth and final production block U.S. Winchester M1 Carbine!
