This lot features a two piece sterling silver grouping consisting of a small picture frame and a vesta case. The octagonal picture frame is of American origin, manufactured by the Webster Company. It is designed in a modernist style with beveled edges and a green velvet backing featuring an integrated easel stand. The side edge of the frame is stamped STERLING alongside the Webster Company trademark of a turtle with an arrow through its shell. The second item is a British sterling silver vesta case, or match safe, with a rectangular form and rounded corners. The exterior is decorated with engine-turned wavy lines and a vacant circular cartouche on the front. It is equipped with a hinged lid and a side-mounted suspension ring. Hallmarks on the interior rim include the maker mark R.BS for Rolason Brothers, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, a lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter A corresponding to the year 1900.
