Factory Engraved Daniel Fraser Bolt Action Takedown Rifle The rifle was completed c. 1905-1911 according to page 90 of Nigel Brown's "British Gunmakers Volume Two: Birmingham, Scotland & the Regions". The rifle was built with a black steel barrel featuring a beaded blade fore sight with flip-up twilight bead on a banded ramp base, a front sling stud, and a three-leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight regulated for 100, 200, and 300 yards on an island base. The barrel is marked with the address "DANl. FRASER & Co./GUN & RIFLE MANUFACTURERS/4 LEITH St. TERRACE EDINBURGH." ahead of the rear sight and period London nitro proof marks beneath the forend. The barrel is fitted to the black cock-on-close 1893 Mauser action which features a takedown bolt in the left of the front ring allowing for the barrel to be detached for easier travel. The action displays attractive scroll engraving with braided borders and "FITTED WITH/FRASER'S PATENT/TRIGGER ACTION" engraved on the rear. The black floorplate and trigger guard show the same braided border with a flourish of scroll at the front action bolt and the serial number on the trigger guard bow. The rifle is fitted in a handsomely figured and multi-point checkered two-piece pistol grip stock with Alexander Henry forend tip, engraved Deeley type forend release, Fraser's signature bolstered stock shape, horn grip cap, shadowline pancake cheekpiece, inletted sling stud, and a checkered horn buttplate. Includes an Americase aluminum takedown case.
