The blade features a choji midare hamon and remains in fine, unaltered condition. It is housed in 20th-century decorative mountings featuring a wood and brass saya and a floral-motif tsuba, depicting the Go-San no kiri used by several prominent samurai lineage. Blade is likely stainless steel.||||In the style of Muromachi-era craftsmanship, blade smith Osafune Yasumitsu (fl. 1394-1441). Yasumitsu was a central figure of the Oei-Bizen period, known for producing blades of exceptional balance and spirit. Measuring 23.75 inches (approx. 60.3 cm), this blade sits at the classic transition between a long wakizashi and a katate-uchi (one-handed katana), a geometry favored by samurai for its speed and efficacy in close-quarters skirmishes.

  • Condition: Black electrical tape at throat. One menuki is missing. Tsuba has a 20th century urushi lacquer wrap, with a portion now missing. Some knicks and oxidation on the blade.
