London Agency Cased Colt Etched Panel New House Spur Trigger Revolver in Desirable .41 Centerfire Manufactured in 1884, this is an exceptionally fine example of Colt's New House revolver with the desirable etched panel barrel in the more rare .41 Centerfire. According to Norm Flayderman, only around 4,000 of these attractive pocket revolvers were produced, with knowledgeable collectors knowing that those in .41 caliber are significantly more rare than those in .38 caliber. Like Colt's New Line revolvers, these New House Models were intended both as a pocket-sized companion piece to Colt's full-sized "Peacemaker", as well as marketed towards urban residents in search of a concealable sidearm for self-defense. The top of the barrel on this example has the two-line address, British proofs on the lower left as well as the cylinder, and the model and caliber marking in the acid etched panel on the left. The left of the frame is marked "A". The serial number is marked on the butt. It has standard features including a pair of unnumbered checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" at the tops. Includes an oak presentation case with blank brass disk inset in the lid, an oiler, screwdriver, key, some cartridges, and cleaning rod contained inside.
